POV Megan
“Please, David...” I cried, hugging him tighter against my chest.
“I would have wanted you to be my mate...” he whispers before his gaze loses focus and stares into nothingness, becoming empty and lifeless.
I looked up, expecting to meet Terra’s frightened eyes, but she wasn’t there; there was no sign of her.
I looked at my pack with all the pain and anger in the world.
“Find her!” I roared, and a howl kicked off the search.
The hours passed and the night fell on us, in all those hours I never left David, I just caressed his face and remembered his voice and his laughter.
Now I remember why the herd of her supposed “partner” looked so familiar; it seems I will never get rid of my past.
