Charlotte’s POV

It was such a beautiful castle, the one I was currently in. Yaya had taken me around the place and even introduced me to some people, especially the ones I’ll be working with. She explained the peacocks in the yard too. They were preparing to have a ball in the castle. How splendid! Now that was something to look forward to. Good enough, my work started exactly the same day that the ball was to be held on the castle grounds. If luck was on my side, I would be able to take part in the work for the day and be present to witness it. I squealed with delight as I sauntered to my new room, pushed in the lock, and went in.

The room was beautiful, too perfect. There was a bed by the wall, just the perfect size for me. There was a maid’s uniform lying on the bed too. The room had a wardrobe, toilet sink, and everything I needed.
