Chapter 48. The Missing Daughter
“Caden!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I ran towards the ruins.
With tears cascading down my face, I felt terror wash over me, my eyes wide. I was trembling from head to foot. I couldn’t even understand what was going on already. Despite my panic, I reached the part where the explosion happened: the master bedroom.
It was clear that the people who attacked Einsworth Manor were after Alpha Caden. They wanted him dead. And now that they knew where he stayed, we were not safe anymore.
“Caden! Caden!” My lungs were already aching from the dust that covered the whole place. I coughed hard. I covered my mouth and nose with my hand and checked for damage. The nursery was near the explosion, and there was no way that anyone in that room could survive the blast.
I felt overwhelmed by everything. I screamed. I screamed for my child. D
