Chapter 16

Josephine’s POV

Rayne’s dorm was on the far east wing of the block reserved for the female hostels. We did not say a word to each other as we moved together to her room.

When we finally got to the door, Rayne explained that she usually shared this room with another girl. Dre. Dre was also a photography major. She was out of town at the moment. She’d gone to visit her sick mother at the hospital. So, for the time being, she had the whole room to herself.

I nodded to her explanation and watched her turn around and insert the key into the keyhole. She turned it twice, and the door creaked open. Rayne entered inside first. I followed her inside a moment later.

Her room was beautiful, perhaps even more beautiful than Elle’s. She had brought purple curtains blocking out the rays of the sunshine from the window and a wide bed that took most of the space in the room.
