Chapter 17
Kelvin’s POV
A tap on the door roused me from my sober thoughts. I looked up to see Grace bearing a glass of wine. She hesitated at the doorway and then walked in, smiling nervously as she moved to my desk. My home office was tastefully designed to match my needs and enable me to work from home. I couldn’t sleep, so I settled for work. I had thought burying myself in the waiting pile of work would do the trick. I was mistaken.
“I brought you a glass of wine,” she said and moved to hand it over to me. I caught a whiff of her perfume, and it momentarily made me forget. She had changed into a tube black dress that skimmed her body. Her long hair was swept up in a pigtail, and she looked younger without the makeup.
“Thank you, Grace.” I dragged my tired eyes away from her curves and pinned them to my laptop. I wasn’t seeing anything on the screen, but it didn’t matter.
