Chapter 25
Kelvin’s POV
I was just about to take my lunch break when my intercom buzzed. I grunted and hit a button.
“Ms. Morgan is here to see you, sir,” my efficient receptionist said in her singsong voice that I considered robotic.
“Send her in. I could use some distraction.”
After the incident at my Christmas party, Kira had limited her visits to my house. She still fussed about the kids and called me every weekend, but I could tell she was thirsty for an apology.
From birth, Kira and I shared a deep bond that remained unbroken even at the peak of my career. She was the most unproblematic little sister anyone could ask for, and when Vivian left, she had been taking care of the kids… until Grace.
There was a rasp on the door, and then Kira walked in, smiling like a breath of fresh air.
“I brought you lunch,” she announced and dumped the Chinese food takeout she was holding onto my desk.
A smile broke out on my face, and I beamed at her.
