Chapter 21. Don't Talk
“Sha, where’d you go?” Uncle Vincent’s voice sharpened, sensing my movement.
“Just a sec, Uncle! Grabbing something!” I lied, a flicker of fear in my chest. I hurried back to his side.
Lia slipped into the room, her steps so silent they were practically ghostly. Those long legs of hers moved without a sound—she must’ve been a cat burglar in another life. I shot her a hopeful glance, praying everything would go smoothly.
“No talking, okay, Uncle?” I whispered our deal into his ear, making sure he thought it was just me in the room. “If you talk, I stop. I’m not talking either. Let’s just… let our bodies do the communication.”
He nodded, letting out a low groan that sent shivers down my spine. “Whatever you want, baby.”
I glanced at Lia again. She was close now, shrugging off her coat to reveal a jaw-dropping outfit that clung perfectly to her curves, the kind of look that’d make any guy lose his mind.
