I was floored by Rachel’s reaction. Why didn’t I see this coming? Of course she might not be thrilled about strangers moving into her house. Even siblings get jealous—imagine how a kid feels when another child shows up as competition in their own home.
“Rachel! Don’t act like that!” Mr. Rey and Farah scolded almost in unison. I had to fight the urge to snap at the little blonde brat myself. Who’d stand for their kid being insulted?
