Chapter 3

In a foreign land, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, I felt utterly lost and despondent during the initial three days. All I could remember was my name and being in a store talking to someone before finding myself here. But I couldn’t remember who I was talking to.

Thoughts of escaping my predicament consumed me until Lillian entered my room, bearing a bowl of frigid water. Taking a seat beside me, she posed an intriguing question.

“Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a werewolf?” Lillian inquired.

Perplexed, I met her gaze, struggling to grasp her meaning. “I’m not sure,” I replied cautiously. “What do you mean?”

“Once you’re ready, I’ll explain everything,” she offered cryptically.

Nodding in agreement, I conveyed my willingness to hear her revelations. A smile graced her lips as she poured the cold water over my head, causing an immediate shiver that coursed through my body. Gradually adjusting to the sensation of dampness on my upper half, I composed myself and prepared for Lillian’s explanation.

According to her, the transformation into a werewolf endowed individuals with unparalleled power. Such newfound strength allowed them to effortlessly overpower fellow werewolves, humans, and even vampires. Additionally, werewolves possessed superhuman abilities, enabling them to effortlessly lift heavy objects, such as cars, with their bare hands. Their heightened senses facilitated swift and successful hunts, rendering their prey defenseless.

As I absorbed Lillian’s words, a realization dawned upon me. Embracing the role of a werewolf would provide the means to escape this living nightmare. Hence, I resolved to align myself with Lillian’s plan, with the goal of liberating myself from this enigmatic world.

The following morning, we congregated in the meeting room alongside Chloe, who brought her computer. With great precision, she briefed us on the intricacies of the werewolf transformation spell. Chanting specific words reminiscent of ancient shamanic incantations was required for the spell to take effect. As we uttered these words, our bodies underwent a profound metamorphosis, growing in size, stature, strength, and speed. However, after a brief period, the torment subsided, and I savored the full extent of the werewolf transformation’s potency.

Under Chloe’s guidance, we embarked on a rigorous training regimen to enhance our physical prowess. She emphasized the importance of flexibility, particularly in combat scenarios. Together, we devoted each day to honing our skills, culminating in shared lunches where I delved deeper into Lillian’s past and her transformation into a werewolf. I learned that she had lived a solitary life since her eighteenth birthday, having never met her parents. Her mother had tragically passed during childbirth, and her father had abandoned her soon after. Raised by her late grandparents, Lillian had faced loneliness, finding solace in the company of friends who provided unwavering support.

One day, I expressed my gratitude to Lillian, acknowledging the impact she had made on my life. “Lillian, I’m grateful that you entered my life,” I confessed.

Her smile radiated warmth as she responded, “You know, I believe we share something special. You have given me your best, and I consider myself fortunate to have found someone like you. I wish we could remain together forever.”

“Life has a way of surprising us,” I mused. “Once I find my way out of this place, you’ll witness my true potential. I wouldn’t have invested all my energy into the spell if I didn’t believe in what I can achieve.”

Lillian chuckled, but her tone held a note of curiosity. “There’s no problem with you staying within the Rosewood Pack. Why are you so intent on leaving?”

Pausing for a moment, I locked eyes with Lillian, generating an air of discomfort. “I must depart from the Rosewood Pack because I am not one of you. I am human, not a werewolf.”

Lillian fell silent, then slowly found her voice. “Why don’t you attend our annual mating ceremony tonight? It may help you decide whether you wish to stay or leave.”

Considering Lillian’s proposition, I found myself inexplicably agreeing despite my reservations.

The atmosphere was electric as the annual mating ceremony commenced, drawing a crowd eager to witness the union of the Rosewood Pack. Standing tall on the podium, the pack’s alpha addressed the gathered people.

“Tonight,” the alpha’s voice resonated, “we shall bear witness to the mating ceremony of my three sons.”

As the alpha’s words subsided, the ceremony swiftly unfolded, propelling me unexpectedly to the forefront of the stage. There, I found myself face-to-face with the man who had previously discussed my safe return home.

“According to our pack’s customs,” the alpha announced, “if the numbers on the backs of individuals of opposite genders align, they shall become official mates.”

My gaze shifted to the back of the man before me, revealing the number 10 etched upon it. A smile graced his lips.

“Yours is also ten,” he declared, a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes.

Before I could respond, the alpha’s proclamation drew my attention to the arrival of his two younger sons, Luke and Duke, who stepped forward onto the stage.

“Are they your brothers?” I inquired, astonishment tinging my voice.

The man grinned warmly. “Technically, yes! And it appears they both bear the number ten as well.”

Confusion enveloped me, my thoughts entangled in a web of bewilderment.

“What does this mean for me?” I pressed the man, seeking clarity.

Pausing to gather his thoughts, he met my gaze with a sigh. “It means you are mated to the three of us.”

The weight of his words settled upon me, an unexpected revelation in the midst of an unfamiliar world.

As the realization sank in, a mix of emotions flooded my being. The unexpected revelation of being mated to three werewolf brothers left me feeling both intrigued and overwhelmed. I glanced at Lillian, who stood nearby, her expression a curious mix of anticipation and concern. It seemed she was aware of this outcome and had orchestrated my participation in the mating ceremony.

The alpha’s voice broke through the whirlwind of thoughts in my mind. “This is a rare occurrence, indeed,” he declared, his tone tinged with a hint of pride. “A human mated to three werewolves. It is a testament to the extraordinary nature of our pack.”
