“Do you resent me, dear Joan?” she asked.

“No, why do you ask?” I was confused.

“The event of two days ago,” she answered.

“Nope, I was the one being a total freak. I planned on apologizing the next time I saw Duke, but he hasn’t come around since then,” I said.
