Chantal’s POV

It was a busy day at work. We were in the depths of a rush project because Mateo had been trying to finalize the deals before they could relax after that week. He had been really serious about ensuring that they would be tortured first before being allowed to take a vacation, until all the problems at work were fixed.

We were in the meeting room then, and I knew everyone was feeling pressured because Mateo had kept rejecting their proposals, especially regarding the packaging that was to be delivered, as it arrived at the company with defects or scratches.

“Any more suggestions?” Mateo had asked, but no one had answered, and then he suddenly slammed his hand on the table.

“Wake up!” he shouted, surprising everyone.

It was a serious matter because the company stood to lose a lot of money, especially since many products were being taken without proper padding.

He stood up abruptly without pausing to speak, and I raised my hand.<
