Chantal’s POV

A deafening silence enveloped us after I asked the question that had previously bothered me as I walked, and when I got into his spot.

“Is Phoebe your ex-girlfriend? Answer me, Mateo,” I asked him again, but he didn’t answer me, and I just let him go and went beyond where he was. He didn’t stop me or even touch me. He just let me walk on my own.

I didn’t know what to do and just let her be. I knew that my feelings for Phoebe would never fade, but it confused me about what the right thing to do with this lady was.
