Chapter 22

Chantal’s POV

I didn’t know what was going on, but there was an unknown tension between the three of them. I didn’t know if I was the only one who noticed because I glanced at our companions, and they seemed to be okay. Since they arrived, Mateo hadn’t spoken, and I didn’t know what was going on, but Violet called us to eat because dinner was ready.

I sat first, and Mateo supported me and sat next to me. I just smiled at him, but I also saw the woman next to us. The girl’s hair was in a high pony and a dress with a slit when she met Mateo and me earlier. After that, we decided to start dinner, and I was playing with my food when I noticed that there were raisins on some of the dishes they prepared. Everyone seemed to like it, but I didn’t, especially in the dish.
