Mateo’s POV

I was still hugging her, and it was amazing when she told me that she didn’t care about what might have happened between me and Phoebe by her means as long as she had me back.

I was speechless. I didn’t know how I would feel. I’d never been needed like this in my entire life. As I kissed her again, I was starting to appreciate everything this lady has, and she was still an angel even though she looked tired.

I caressed her face, making her look at me and see through my soul that she’s the one I want to live with forever.

Guilt rushed through my veins when I saw how hurt she was and had to take care of everything just because of what happened to us.

“I’m sorry, Chantal,” my voice trembled as I looked into her eyes. I knew my sorry couldn’t take anything back or heal her wounds fast, but I wanted to say it.

“No, it’s okay, it’s over so we should forget about it,” Chantal told me.
