Chantal’s POV

[The next day]

“What?!?” I shouted because Dad was here in the office and I didn’t know what his purpose was, but he said that he would take me and return me to our company. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but I was trying so hard to learn everything here so I could use it back there.

“You said you didn’t want this,” Dad said.

I sighed and said, “I’m fine. Didn’t I agree to work here even without a contract?” I told him, but that wasn’t the reason. I just wanted to stay here because Mateo was letting me do all of the presentations, and I was having an ace moment. But I couldn’t tell him that because I knew he would just criticize me for being like that.

“Chantal dear, think of this very carefully. The other day, your mom came up to us saying you wanted to get out of this, so I’m taking you again,” he told me.
