“Can we eat already? I’m starving,” Andrew’s father said.
“Not yet. We don’t eat before our guest arrives,” his grandmother said.
“Well, what is taking her so long? It’s not like her to be late.”
Andrew sighed. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t feeling a bit antsy about the possibility of Elaine’s absence. It was a few minutes to six, and if she was going to break his brother’s heart, now would be the time to do it.
