Chapter 120. Rumors
Andrew walked back to the dining room with anger in his bones. It would take the grace of God for him to sit through the dinner and not call Elaine names. She was picking on his brother’s weakness. He had never imagined her to be so vile.
As he neared the dining room, he saw Madison walking towards him.
“Madison—” he began.
But she didn’t give him another look as she walked past him. It was almost as though she hadn’t heard him.
But he felt like a fool. He’d said all those things to Elaine fully aware that Madison was listening to him. What would it have cost him to simply ignore Elaine instead of trying to spend more time with her?
His stomach rumbled and he looked at Madison’s back, then he looked at the way to the dining room. He choose the dining room. Madison would come back to him. All the women always did.
