Chapter 155. Pinned to the Wall
“Alright, nice and easy,” Andrew said as he helped Pops to walk over the threshold — a large wooden bar on the floor that separated the candy shop from the house.
Elaine came to them from the kitchen and she wiped her palms on her jeans as she watched them with alarm. She turned to Andrew as she walked to Pops other side to help. “What happened? Andrew, what did you do?”
“What makes you think I did anything?” he asked, as they walked towards the orange sofa in the middle of the living room.
“No. Take me to a room. I want to lie down. And bring some painkillers. I don’t fall like I’m 16,” Pops said.
“Well, you have a knack for hurting people,” Elaine said as they tried to pivot Pops upstairs.
“We can’t take him there.”
“Why not?” Elaine stared at Andrew.
