Chapter 159. Sally and Desmond
The phone buzzed in the kitchen and Andrew groaned as he turned on his bed again. He had been so sure he was making waves with the way she had looked at him during the meeting with the principal. She had held his hand halfway through the meeting. They had spent the night before working on the plan and it had turned out great but then she told him no. He felt like all the life had been sucked from him and there wasn’t anything else left to do but sit and wait.
Wait for what?
The phone rang again. He forced himself to sit up and trudge to the kitchen. Usually, Elaine would answer the calls but she still wasn’t back from the city. It had been two days. He’d turned off his phone to avoid questions about his brother. All he wanted was some peace and quiet that mirrored the emptiness in his heart.
