Chapter 28. Secret Admirer
No one said a word and if anyone had dared to, it would have made the awkward situation even more awkward.
Maybe it was foolish to have accepted his invitation. Yes, his grandma had asked to see her but she hadn’t impressed the woman that much to earn an invitation to dinner. The real cause of the butterfly tornado in her stomach was Melvin.
She stared at Andrew. He seemed to find everything else more interesting. Preparing to meet Melvin was worth breaking the silence.
“Will Melvin be at the dinner?”
“I don’t know.” Andrew shifted in his chair and turned to face the window.
She reached into her purse, pulled out her phone and opened Instagram. She began to scroll, searching for something to fill her mind and to fill the dead silence.
“Melvin didn’t send you those flowers.”
“I didn’t ask.”
