Chapter 33. The Agent

The book interviews would be held at his office.

Grandma had insisted that she would like to talk about the book plans with ROI Penn’s representative there. She had told grandpa to inform him about her choice. She still wasn’t talking to him. He had apologized but he wouldn’t bring Elaine back.

“Dad, you’re here now. Can you look over the files please?” He held the yellow folder further out to his father.

Stephen shook his head. “I’m not here for work.”

“I thought you said writing this book is work?” Andrew dropped the folder on the table.

“It is. But I’m on my sick leave from CEO work. That’s your job.”

“Grandpa, can you please tell dad to just look over these files?” Andrew said.

His grandfather hadn’t expressed much opinion about Elaine after she left and he wasn’t exactly sure where his grandfather stood on the whole thing.

“Stephen is right,” his grandfather said. “We’re not here for work. Hopefully Melvin gets here soon.”
