Andrew leaned closer to them as they descended the staircase and headed for the door. A few eyes looked their way.
“Grandma, we’ve discussed this. You can’t keep trying to manipulate people into doing what you want.”
Her reply overshadowed his voice. “I would much rather have you interview me for this Swernbach book they want to write but since you can’t…”
Elaine touched her chest. “I feel very honored that you thought of me but this is really Jean’s project. I can’t take it up.”
“Every other member of my family wants you.”
Elaine pointed her thumb at Andrew. “Expect him.”
“He can share his heart of ice with Jean. I’m sure they’ll have a lot in common.”
Elaine smiled, enjoying Josephine’s presence. “I agree.”
