Chapter 43. Apron
Andrew walked into the mansion at 5 p.m., which was a record time for him. Lately, Melvin had been spending a lot of time in the office and putting in his own fair share of work – and more. His brother’s mood was even worse and no one had dared come near the older Swernbach but Andrew was happy. Maybe that would get his father ready to work again.
Andrew’s eyes strolled toward the oval room. He could go upstairs and take a shower but he knew his grandmother would be at the kitchen making dinner. He headed toward the oval room. He heard a bit of Portuguese music from the kitchen.
His grandma loved to play music in accordance with the food culture she was cooking. She claimed it helped her get in the mood. He believed she did it to drown out all the noise that he and Melvin made when they were teenagers.
