Chapter 51. Gwen (2)
Elaine walked out of the office but Melvin didn’t follow. He stopped beside the two security details dressed in the official uniform of the Swernbach security team who stood at each side of the door.
In front of his grandfather’s office, there was a large space marked by four white sofas above a dark blue rectangular rug. In the middle of the space was an orange sculpture of twisted mesh. He had never been able to figure out what the sculpture meant. It was one of those weird things his grandfather owned.
The look in his grandfather’s eyes was something. Did the man know about him and Gwen? How? He sat in the large lobby area waiting until she came out of the room.
Gwen’s hair was packed up in a smooth bun that had intricate little braids running around it. Her dark skin glowed in the light as she shut the door behind her.
