Chapter 16. I Would Never Ever Forgive Myself

Mr. Santiago and Mrs. Avery are sitting in their room making a toast and giggling like teens when they suddenly hear a piercing scream.

Mrs. Avery freezes. "That sounded like Juliet!" She informs her husband in a panic. The next second, she drops her glass of wine, stands up swiftly, and dashes out of the room while breathing heavily.

Mr. Santiago stands up as well, almost toppling over the small table as he follows his wife out.

The two run in the hallway as they head downstairs trying to know where the scream came from.

Mrs. Avery runs in front of her husband as she hurriedly descends the staircase in panic, Mr. Santiago following closely behind.

She runs towards their large living room and she sees her two daughters standing there.

"What happened, Brianna? Juliet?" She approaches them and asks, wiping off the beads of sweat on her forehead due to how fast she had run, almost out of breath.

She breathes a sigh of relief
