Kyle clutched at his hoodie as he approached the street that led to his house. The atmosphere had been surprisingly cold of recent. He didn't get it. It was nearly August and rather than people, packing more layers of clothing on their bodies, they were supposed to be shedding them.

Furthermore, it seemed like a coincidence that the weather suddenly changed with the recent appearance of the vampires. It just didn't click to him. 

As soon as he approached his house, his sensitive ears detected the sound of something within. He quickly rushed towards the door and opened it. 

The living room was empty but the television was switched on. 

"Hello? I'm home." He announced carefully.

There was no response anywhere.
