Chapter 12

After a few blocks, the buildings come to an end. They eventually come to a barrier that runs along the top of a seawall's perimeter. "What are we doing here, exactly? I was under the impression that we were returning to the hotel's basement."

"Diana, you seem to have completely lost your mind, don't you? We had a good motive for fleeing from the building earlier. Please be advised that they are not our living quarters! Hell no! And we just took something from there." Ryan replied in a very accented English accent that tells Diana that the man wasn't happy about questioning him with such mundane information.

"Alright!"

The two were looking at a vast gray wasteland on their left, with London Bridge spanning the River Thames between the City of London and Southwark. The lake, which she remembered from a different future, does not even resemble the lake she remembered, but instead is a vast gray wasteland, with black froth waves crashing ashore on the other side of the lake.
