Chapter 16
BirdF was buzzing with people scrambling left, right, and center to do God-knows-what. Aria wondered what a lot of people would be doing in a media franchise on Monday, especially as they were not staff. She knew such companies boomed with a lot of people on show days, but on a simple workday, she had expected fewer people.
Looking forward, she walked to the receptionist’s table. It was a round, built-up counter that made her stand on her toes for whoever was on the other side to be able to see her. She wasn’t that tall. Heels made up for it, and she wasn’t so good on them except on occasions that required her exquisite presentations.
There were times when she’d enjoyed them, though. She had picked out a plain white shirt and tailored crimson-colored skirt with trims at the edges. Her flat shoes went well with those, and she had worn them without thinking twice. They might wonder if she was a staff or a new recruit, but that wasn’t her problem.
