Chapter 27. First Day at Work

Anna nodded slowly, trying to steady her breathing as she looked at Zac. “You’re right. Maybe this is the universe giving me a chance to prove myself—to everyone. My mom, my family, even to myself.” 

She did kind of believe that, but at the same time, she knew that all of this was not normal. Something more was going on and she had a feeling that when she found out, it was going to be a little too late. 

But she was already in, so their only way out was to keep going forward. 

Zac smiled, his confidence a bit shaky, but he did not want to show that or he knew that it would affect the girl of his dreams. He was tentative about everything, it was very suspicious but his plan was to be with Anna every step of the way while trying her best to figure out what was going on.
