Anna let out a shaky breath, her mind racing. “Okay, so maybe he’s not the devil, but that doesn’t mean he's not dangerous. If what Mrs. Hale said is even half true, we need to figure out what’s really going on.” 

“Or we need to try our best to stay under the radar. We need to try our best not to raise any eyebrows, Anna. I don’t think you heard Mrs. Hale well. This is not a game.” 

She released a sigh, nodding as she mentally chewed on it all. “You’re right. So what do we do?” 

“We already signed the contracts. We just continue to do whatever they tell us to do and get paid for it.” He shrugged. “At the same time, we gather enough evidence against them and call the detective from back home to help us build a case. That’s how we do it, we take them down from the inside.” 

Anna nodded again, her heart feeling like something was tightening around it. She ran her hand through her hair. “Let’s find a cab, it’s getting late.”
