Chapter 75. Down to Business
Anna slid into the passenger seat, buckling up as Zac walked around and got in. He adjusted the mirrors, then started the engine. As they pulled onto the road the tension in Anna’s chest remained, she had no idea how to get rid of it.
No matter how much she tried to convince herself that this was the right move, she could not shake the uneasy feeling gnawing at her gut.
“You’re overthinking again,” Zac said, glancing at her.
“I can’t help it,” She murmured, staring out the window.
The rest of the drive was quiet. The windows were down and the wind of the city blew in. They were heading to the firm and it was Zac behind the steering wheel this time. He kept glancing at Anna every few minutes and she noticed it but did not say anything.
