Chapter 136. My Choice

Anna walked deeper into the place, and it was quiet as her parents stared at her.

Then, before she could say a word, her mother closed the distance between them and pulled her into a tight hug, sobbing as she did.

“I’m so glad you’re okay,” her mother whispered against her shoulder, her grip trembling.

Anna stood frozen, caught off guard by the sudden embrace. She definitely was not expecting this. If anything, she expected to get shouted at for being stubborn and not listening.

This was the same woman who had betrayed her by calling the cops on Zac, and all because she had wanted Anna to go with her back home. 

And yet, here she was, clinging to her like she had been afraid she’d never see her again.
