Chapter 142. Princess or Prisoner?
The flight was smooth, almost luxurious. The cabin of the jet was sleek and comfortable, a far cry from the cramped spaces she had known.
The attendants, impeccably polite, served Anna food she never dreamed she would be able to afford…fresh fruit, delicate pastries, and wine that tasted like something out of a dream.
The food was exquisite, and for a brief moment, Anna almost felt like a princess, treated like royalty in a world of opulence.
But the feeling didn’t last long. The comfort, the extravagance, were all superficial distractions. Her stomach churned, twisting with unease.
No matter how soft the leather of her seat, no matter how beautiful the view of the sky through the window, Anna couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that she was more of a prisoner than a guest.
