Chapter 135. At the Motel
There was no point in arguing…not when the deal had already been made, not when the weight of her choices was already pressing down on her.
She already knew the risks and had accepted them. So yeah.
She had stepped into Victor’s world willingly, and there was no turning back.
They left the station in silence, parting ways in the parking lot. Victor gave her one last amused glance before slipping into the backseat of a sleek black car.
The vehicle pulled away smoothly, vanishing into the city traffic, leaving Anna standing alone in the cool evening air.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket.
Mom: We’re leaving New York soon. If you care at all, you’ll come see us before we go.
Anna’s heart did a weird flip and guilt filled her up. A part of her wanted to ignore the message because she was still angry by what the woman had done.
