Chadwick raised an eyebrow at her, surprised by the sudden move but too drunk to question it. “You really do know how to keep things interesting.”
Anna gave him a flirtatious smile, the edges of her lips curling upward. “I always keep things interesting,” she said, raising her glass.
Chadwick’s gaze dropped to the glass in her hand, then back to her face. “I like a woman who can hold her liquor.”
“You’ll find that I can keep up,” she said, downing the drink in one smooth motion. Her stomach burned as the liquor hit, but she swallowed it down, focusing on the task at hand. “You’d better try to keep up too.”
Chadwick grinned and finished off his glass, slurring a little more as he reached for the bottle again. “Oh, I’m ready, sweetheart.”
