Chapter 196. Winter and the Cold

Days to a week later, Anna found herself back in New York City. 

The news had spread through America about Victor and Chadwick; about their involvement concerning sex trafficking.

Everything was coming back to normal. Victor was dead and gone. Chadwick was arrested for his crimes and involvement with Victor.

And Anna had enrolled in school again. All the universities that had rejected her were the ones now begging to have her.

She found out that it was not Vito who was behind the shooting of the mafia boss, but Carlos. She talked with him and he said that he had done it for her.

He said that he knew that the man would have still tried to find a way to control her and make her life hell, and he did not want that for her.

Anna was grateful. She was not sorry for Victor or anything. She was grateful that he was gone and out of her life forever.
