Chapter 41. The Devil’s Pact
Anna’s heart pounded as she looked at her brother, trying to summon the courage. “Okay, Kevin. But promise me you’ll keep an open mind.” She could not believe she was about to do what she was about to do.
Kevin shrugged, still smirking. “Sure, whatever.”
Anna closed her eyes and took a deep breath, focusing on the demon king. “Zac, if you can hear me, please come. Show Kevin that you’re real.”
She internally kept her fingers crossed, hoping that Zac would not fail her.
For a moment, nothing happened. Kevin’s smirk grew wider. But then, the air around them seemed to shift. The temperature dropped, and the lights flickered. Kevin’s smirk faded, replaced by a look of confusion and fear.
A shadow appeared in the corner of the room, growing larger and more defined until Zac materialized, his presence dark and imposing.
“You called, Anna?”
Kevin’s eyes widened, and he stumbled back, nearly falling off the couch. “What the… who… what are you?”
