"Mia?" Hendrix called her name, drifting her attention from her book. She looked sideways and saw them.

"Oh, you're back," she said, standing up, and placing the book behind her back. "How long have you both been standing there?" She asked him.

Hendrix chuckled. "Long enough to see you reading a book," he replied, and she smiled sheepishly as she raised the book a little.

"Oh, this," she said in a simple exclamation.

"I thought you said books are boring," Hendrix asked as he eyed her curiously.

"They are," she answered with a shrug and then continued. "But, this one isn't," she added, looking at the book with a smile.

Alex's lips almost twitched up in a smile when he realized that she was reading his favorite book, but instead, he maintained a stoic look on his face. "I'm going upstairs," he said to Hendrix, and with that, he walked away.
