“Where have you been?” Reginald asked immediately after I opened the door, his voice laced with a mix of concern and annoyance.
He shouldn’t care about me. There was no point in pretending that I was happy being here when all I wanted to do was just be out of their hair.
They didn’t think it was important for me to know what was going on, so I was going to make sure that they understood that I didn’t owe them any explanation.
Being in the house was already making me feel nauseous, then trying my best to make sure that everything they did didn’t concern me.
