Chapter 31
Sophia’s POV
We had been walking through this deserted wilderness and unlike what I thought the underworld would be like, you know, dark, gloomy maybe with some owls hooting, as it usually was at night, we had encountered an unbelievable level of heat, enough to fry an egg. It was scorching, the ground had cracked open in multiple places due to the obvious drought that would result from that kind of heat.
There was no way we wouldn’t die, if we actually continued walking. We had all had enough, but, as you can guess, James would be the first to complain.
“Man I’m really exhausted,” James said, “I think we should take a break.”
“Yeah,” Lucas replied, “I agree with James. Let’s find some shade to rest under.”
“Man I couldn’t agree more,” replied Elijah.
And so we had to start looking for shade in the middle of nowhere, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, it was scorching hot and I couldn’t do shit about it since I had strained my manna core. W
