Chapter 17. Could He Be a Cop?

The next day, Denver got himself admitted to the Houston Athletic Club to learn boxing. His classes would clash with Sapphire's in the afternoon and he was ecstatic. He would get to meet her every day. After college, he came home to find that the girls had gone to the salon to get a makeover. He waited impatiently to check Sapphire's makeover. But his ma sent him to the restaurant with Daxton to check up on the reception party preparations.

Sapphire had gone to the club directly from the salon and Denver hurried back from the restaurant and jogged towards the club.

"Why in such a rush?" asked Officer Brad Williams's voice. Was he imagining that? Denver whirled around to find Sapphire's dad standing beside his car, having just returned home. He groaned inwardly at his bad luck. He had to get caught on his first day at the club!

"Where are you off to in such a hurry, son?" he asked curiously.

"I've enrolled in boxing classes, Uncle Brad," he admitted.
