Chapter 23. Missing Drake
Alexis reached home and received a warm welcome from her sister and her family, but she was restless. Despite the delicious food, the love of her family, and her familiar room, she wasn’t happy. She had left her heart behind at Drake’s house. His sad eyes, his heartbroken face, and the unspoken words reflected in his eyes as he stood like a statue, silently watching her, all flashed in her mind. They made her feel like weeping her heart out.
She played with the twins, attended the family lunch on Sunday, and interacted with almost every member of the Taylor family. Still, she looked heartbroken.
