Chapter 26. Going to His Family Home

The next morning, all hopes were dashed when Nate heard that Greg Stanford had submitted a petition at a higher court of law. The whole day, they spent at the lawyer’s office, planning their next step. They just couldn’t get anything packed up for their trip home. Nate had to cancel the flight and book the next available flight at noon. Aries and Andrea didn’t seem to mind at all. It was evening when they returned to the apartment. The police team had also summoned them as they were keen on raiding Greg Stanford’s house, since they had missed the basement earlier. 

“Do we need to stay back for the investigations?” asked Claire, feeling tired of it all. Nate shook his head. 

“The court will notify us of the date of the hearing. It wouldn’t be very soon. There’s no point in waiting here. As for the investigation, let the police do their job. They’ll update us," said Nate.
