Chapter 32. Nate Under a Threat

Nate was pissed off, as he didn’t get a moment alone with Claire. The whole family went sightseeing, and he and Claire just got dragged along. Claire was always looking around to see if she was being spied upon by Chris's men. A strange sense of dread crept into her mind and she just couldn’t arise out of her system. She tried to avoid Nate, but he seemed to stick to her more. While the whole family was watching a beautiful musical fountain at one of the many parks in Wharton, Nate caught her hand and pulled her close to him.

“What’s wrong with you, Claire? Why are you avoiding me?” he demanded impatiently. Claire looked around, panicking a little. She tried to push him away and free her hand from his steel-like grip. 

“I’m not. Everyone’s watching us, Nate, please not now,” she whispered, wrenching her hand away. Nate glared at her angrily. 

“Let them watch. I don’t care who’s watching us. Unless you tell me what’s going on, I’m not letting you go, Claire
