Chapter 40. Connecting with Him

Claire’s eyes widened and her breath caught in her throat, seeing Nate in her room instead of the girls who were supposed to get her ready for the reception party. Her heartbeats accelerated more when a shirtless Nate approached her, his eyes blazing with fire. Would he want her to fulfill her wise duties in bed right away? What if the whole family turned up at the door? “Umm Nate, what are you doing?” She asked breathlessly, as he came to a stop right in front of her. 

“You forgot you are mine, totally mine!” he said, his face inches from hers. His arm snaked around her waist and he pulled her flush against his chest. Claire’s breath hitched at the contact and she looked at his full, kissable lips that were inches away from hers. She could feel his hot breath upon her and it drove her crazy. “Don’t for once think that this is a fake marriage. It’s very much real and you cannot get rid of me and return to New York now that Chris is out of your life forever,” he said
