Chapter 34. His Confession

Nate stared at Claire with a strange expression on his face. Claire had no idea what had suddenly made him behave this way. After the talk they had last night, when she had clearly informed him about her intentions, she hadn’t expected him to pursue her again. But here he was, just the same Nate as he always was, impossible, stubborn, and extremely adorable. Nothing had changed at all, it seems, between them. It was back to square one.

“Nate, I’m having second thoughts now about this act. Aren’t you overdoing it?” she demanded, tired of his staring. Nate just gazed at her, his eyes seemed unable to look away from her. She looked so beautiful that if he could, he would have married her here and now. He wanted to tell her what he had come here for, but seeing the spy's presence behind her, he stopped himself.
