The plane ride had been uneventful after Killian declared that I was his mate. For the first two hours, all they did was stare at us, making me feel completely exposed. Now, it was like we didn’t exist.
We had landed a few hours ago. The car ride had been mostly silent. Killian had fallen asleep after a while. I couldn’t even close my eyes—my stomach was twisting and coiling its way any which way. I was a nervous mess.
Amoria was going to be my home, and I’d be their future Queen, their Luna, a mother figure to all. Just the thought of it made my body cringe with fear. Was I ready to do all of this?
To take care of a pack, to listen to all the pack’s grievances and sort them out.
Killian was a natural-born leader. Even if he didn’t admit it, it was in his blood. He knew how to command respect as well as fear.
