Chapter 17. Escaped

Zeke POV

Zane wastes no time getting Elara out of here. When we first arrived at the grove, I thought she was willingly sleeping with Kevin, but as soon as Zeus yanked him from the Jeep, I knew that wasn’t the case.

When I peered into the Jeep, I was overcome with rage. Elara’s body was beaten and marred with scratches and cuts. Dark bruises were forming on her thighs and her whole body was shaking.

I knew what had happened to her, but I didn’t want to admit it. It was easier to turn my anger on Kevin. I knew Zane would take care of her. He has always be the best at that.

Zeus and I are stalking toward Kevin’s body. Unfortunately, he survived the hit against the tree. He is groaning loudly as he attempts to get to his feet.

He wipes his hand across his shirt, and I notice the blood that is caked under his fingernails. He shakes his head, and growls. “You ruined my fun.”
