Chapter 18. Truth
Elara POV
Snow is falling all around me, and I search for the white wolf. When she is close, I feel safe, but she is nowhere to be seen. I lift my little hands to my eyes and begin to cry. I was told the journey I had to make and was shown the path, but I don’t think I can make it alone.
The forest is vast, and I feel like I am walking in circles. A voice gently calls out my name “Elara.”
I spin around and see a woman with blonde hair and golden eyes standing behind me. There is a kindness in her smile that makes me run into her arms.
“I thought I lost you,” I sob.
“You will never be without me,” the woman tells me.
Holding me at arm’s length, she pulls a small package out of her pocket. She places it deep in my pocket and pats it safely.
“Don’t lose this,” she tells me. “And never let anyone know that you have it. One day, it will be the key to finding your home.”
