Chapter 28. Proposal

Elara POV

I wake up in the clubhouse, but the triplets are all gone. Looking at the clock, I realize I have slept away most of the day. It is just after lunchtime, and my stomach is rumbling loudly. Before I climb out of Zane’s bed, I breathe in the scent of his pillow. It is a guilty pleasure of mine. I have always loved the Cedar scent that follows the triplets around.

As I hang my feet over the side of the bed, they tingle slightly. I wiggle my toes, trying to get the feeling to come back. I had gone so long without eating that the doctor was concerned that I had caused nerve damage, and without a wolf to heal me, it is likely permanent.

I am staring down at my feet when I hear someone tapping on the door. I ignore the knocks because I am technically not supposed to be in here, but they don’t stop.
